Dental Examinations
Regular dental examinations are an important part of preventive health care. We also believe that smiling with confidence makes a difference in everyone’s life, and also benefits those around you.
Based on this, our qualified team deliver comprehensive dental examinations in order to arrive at the ideal treatment plan, giving you the best in methods, quality and affordability.
We will look at all of your options – starting from the most conservative treatments, with the aim of getting back your smile and your life.

What is a dental examination?
Regular dental examinations are the foundation of lifelong oral health. They give us the chance to spot problems early, when treatment is simpler, more affordable, and far more comfortable. We welcome patients from Lichfield, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton upon Trent, Stafford, Burntwood, Uttoxeter, and Ashby-de-la-Zouch. New NHS and private patients are welcome. We open late evenings and weekends, and offer same-day emergency appointments too.
Why Are Dental Examinations Important?
First and foremost, check-ups detect issues before they become serious. Tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer often develop without obvious symptoms in the early stages. By the time you feel pain, the problem has usually advanced. However, with regular examinations, we catch these changes early. As a result, we can treat them quickly, preserve more of your natural tooth, and avoid complex procedures later on. Furthermore, we check the health of your gums, the alignment of your bite, and the condition of any fillings, crowns, or bridges you already have. We also look at the bigger picture because your oral health links directly to your general health.

What Happens During Your Examination?
Your appointment starts with a friendly conversation. We want to know how you feel, if anything worries you, and what your goals are for your smile. Then, we carry out a thorough but gentle check. We examine every tooth and your gums carefully. We may take X-rays if needed to see beneath the surface. We also screen for oral health conditions and check your jaw and bite. After that, we explain everything clearly. We never rush you. Instead, we take time to show you what we see, explain what it means, and talk through your options. You will always understand exactly what is happening and why before we proceed.
What If You Feel Nervous?
It is completely normal to feel anxious about visiting the dentist. Many people do. Consequently, we build our practice around making you feel safe, calm, and respected. We take things at your pace. We explain every step before we do it. We listen if you need to stop. Above all, we treat you with kindness and patience. Our goal is to help you feel in control and build trust over time. You are never just a set of teeth to us — you are a person, and your comfort matters deeply.

Our Approach to Your Care
We believe prevention is always better than cure. That is why we focus on helping you keep your teeth and gums healthy, not just fixing problems when they hurt. We will show you the best brushing and flossing techniques, suggest the right products, and give you simple, practical advice on diet and lifestyle. Additionally, we offer scale and polish appointments, fluoride treatments, and fissure sealants to protect your teeth. When treatment is needed, we discuss all options with you. We will never push you into anything. Instead, we help you choose what fits your needs, your budget, and your life.
How Often Should You Come?
Most people benefit from a check-up every six months. However, everyone is different. Therefore, we will recommend a schedule that suits you — whether that is every six months, once a year, or more often if you need extra support. We will send you a reminder when your appointment is due. Keeping on top of your visits is the best way to protect your smile and your health.
